Registration for the course must be completed by emailing the training administrator at [email protected]. All registrations must be completed in full and will not be considered valid without a payment confirmation via Bank Transfer, Bank Draft, Cheque or Purchase Order. All potential candidates must be registered 5 days before course start date. 2. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM US? WHAT ARE THE CANDIDATE/LEARNER RESPONSIBILITIES? For everyone in the course to get the most from this programme, we expect all Candidates/Learners to adhere to the following: • To attend all sessions of the training programme punctually • All modules and assessments must be completed. • To communicate with relevant staff in the centre if you will be absent from the course • To show respect to staff and other Candidates/Learners • To show respect for the equipment in the training venue • To follow all health and safety guidelines • To participate fully in your programme of study • To complete and submit all assignments on time • To submit your own work and not to engage in plagiarism • To bring any concerns or difficulties you are facing to the attention of a relevant member of staff in a prompt manner • No jewellery is to permitted to be worn when working on switchgear 4. WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR ASSESSMENT OF CANDIDATES? Powerpoint Engineering Ltd Training strives to promote and support a learning environment where the process of assessment for candidates/learners is transparent, fair and consistent, valid, reliable, reflects good practice and adheres to legislative requirements. In keeping with this, we are committed to: • Implementing valid assessments that assess the standards of knowledge, skill or competence required for the course • Providing information to staff and candidates/learners in a variety of formats to ensure that the assessment process for each programme is understood • Accessible assessment processes that are fair to all potential candidates and reflect the organisation’s Equal Opportunities policy • An internal verification process and an external authentication process where applicable • Continuous review of the Fair & Consistent Assessment policy. 5. WHAT IS YOUR POLICY IN RELATION TO RETAINING CANDIDATE ASSESSMENT MATERIAL? Written assessment material will not be returned to the candidate/learner. Assessment material will be securely stored in line with the data retention rules (5 Years) upon which time it will be disposed of in an appropriate manner. Only personal information necessary to support the candidates course application will be retained for records and will be protected under data protection rules. 6. CAN I APPEAL MY RESULT? Candidates may appeal their results provided this request is made through Powerpoint Engineering Training Administration. Notice of an appeal should be submitted within two weeks of the issue of the statement of results. It is Powerpoint Engineering’s aim to treat each case fairly and consistently. However, if the candidate disagrees with a decision we have made, they can appeal against that decision. There are three appeal steps 1. Appeal Enquiry 2. Appeal 3. Appeals Board 1. Appeal Enquiry A candidate can ask for their exam result to be reviewed. This must be submitted within two weeks of the issue of the statement of results 2. Appeal On receipt of the candidate appeal, Powerpoint Engineering Approved Trainers will review the results, and re –mark the candidate’s exam. 3. Appeals Board The trainer will then submit the re-marked exam to the Powerpoint Engineering Appeals Board, whereby the exam will be reviewed to ensure it is the correct and fair result. The candidate will receive correspondence within 30 days from the date of receipt of the candidate appeal. 7. HOW TO MAKE A COMPLAINT? We are always aiming to improve the quality of our services and welcome feedback to help us do this. If you have a complaint, or any suggestions for improvements to any of the courses Powerpoint Engineering Training provides, please email [email protected] Complaints Procedure Complaint flagged by one of the members of the training department. It will then be sent to the Training Co‐ordinator to facilitate a remedy or ensure it is brought to the attention of the correct department or person. We aim to address all our complaints within 10 working days. 8. WHAT IS MALPRACTICE POLICY OF POWERPOINT ENGINEERING? It is Powerpoint Engineering’s intention to conduct all training to the highest ethical standard. Powerpoint Engineering Management has a zero tolerance policy for any form of malpractice. All our trainers will conduct their training and exam assessment practical and theory without prejudice or favouritism towards candidates. If any candidate notices any form of plagiarism or misconduct or feels they have been unfairly treated they should raise their concerns with the Training Administrator at Powerpoint Engineering Ltd office 0578662162. We expect that training for our candidates will be an enjoyable and beneficial learning experience. Candidates are expected to conduct themselves and complete the course and assessments in a trustworthy and undisruptive manner. Where a candidate’s behaviour or action contravenes these strict rules they will be asked to leave the training course and will not be allowed to take further part in the course. 9. WHAT IS THE MALADMINISTRATION POLICY OF POWERPOINT ENGINEERING? Maladministration is essentially any activity or practice which results in non‐compliance with administrative regulations and requirements and includes the application of persistent mistakes or poor administration. Examples of maladministration · Late learner registrations (both infrequent and persistent) · Unreasonable delays in responding to requests and / or communications from Powerpoint Engineering Ltd · Inaccurate claims for certificates · Failure to maintain appropriate auditable records If you are witness to any act of maladministration or believe it is being practiced, report it to your Training Administrator immediately by telephone to 0578662162. 10. Any candidate that has any concerns should raise this with the training coordinator when registering for the course. 11. WHAT IS THE TRAINING HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY OF POWERPOINT ENGINEERING? At Powerpoint Engineering Ltd Training we will take all reasonable steps to secure and maintain the health, safety and welfare of all candidates and trainers, training staff, clients and members of the public who may be affected by our activities. As a management team our objective is to maximise the well‐being of each candidate and their potential to contribute to their development and learning experience and ensure compliance with Legislation relevant to our operations. It is our policy and overall aim to educate each candidate in safe working practices and through this education it is envisaged that the candidates will work in a safe manner whether or not immediate supervision is present. Safety is a core company value and safe working is an integral part of how we plan, organise and undertake our business activities and operations. To this end Powerpoint Engineering Ltd Training is committed to providing: – A safe place and healthy training/work environment for all our candidates/trainers – Safe means of access and egress to and from the training centre – Safe plant, machinery and equipment necessary to carry out training safely – Safe systems of work, whereby all tasks are carried out in a safe manner. – Relevant information, instruction, training and supervision for all employees in order that they can carry out their tasks in a safe manner with no danger to themselves or others who may be affected by their work. – A safety management system to manage health & safety in the workplace/training centre. – Systems for the identification of training centre/workplace hazards, assessment of risks arising and the implementation of suitable controls. – Safe arrangements for the use, handling, storage and transport of training safety equipment. – Sufficient consultation, information, training and supervision to enable candidates to carry out their work safely, without risk to themselves or others. – Appropriate welfare facilities We aim is to eliminate all accidents and potential hazards and reach an objective of zero injuries. Achieving this will require the full understanding of everyone in the training centre of their safety responsibilities and their commitment to fostering a proactive safety culture, based on a duty of care for oneself, other candidates and members of the public. 12. WHAT ARE THE FIRE SAFETY PROCEDURES? This procedure relates to all personnel within Powerpoint Engineering Ltd Training Centre as well as personnel or Candidates working on or visiting the premises. The Fire and Evacuation Procedure applies to all emergency evacuation situations, which may include: • Fire • Environmental related accidents • Explosion (or threat of) Attention will be drawn to emergency procedures at the beginning of each training session. Please make yourself familiar with the nearest emergency exit and assembly points. 13. WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE? In the event of a fire or other emergency requiring evacuation: – Ensure that the fire alarm is activated and the fire brigade summoned – Notify Reception of the nature of the emergency. – Calmly and quickly leave the building Under no circumstances are you to return to the building until you are instructed to do so by the fire warden. If someone refuses or is unable to leave the building (e.g. physical impairment, heavily pregnant, etc.), then this information, along with their location, should be reported to the person in charge of the evacuation. Important Note: At no time should you place yourselves in the position where your own life is at risk, e.g. by re‐entering the building. 14. CAN I GIVE FEEDBACK ON THE COURSE? In the interest of continuous improvement, it is our policy to solicit feedback both informal and formal from Candidates and Candidates Employers (where appropriate) and Trainers. Candidate informal feedback is welcomed during the course via casual conversations at breaks, after training sessions etc. and formal feedback is attained by completing course feedback sheets at the end of each course and by issuing course feedback sheets to employers where appropriate. The results of these will be discussed at management meetings and minutes will be kept. 15. WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE LOST YOUR COURSE CERTIFICATE? Candidates may obtain a copy of their certificate where they have lost their certificates. A request in writing must be sent in to the course administrator at [email protected]. The request must state the candidates name and address and when they attended the Course. An administration fee will apply to replace any lost Certificate and there is a standard 3 week lead time. |
