TORKEL 900 Series enables battery testing to be carried out in-service with real time monitoring during testing. Easily expandable for larger battery banks using TXL extra load units and can be combined with the cell voltage logger, BVM, to become the ultimate, stand-alone, discharge test system.
The TORKEL 900 Series has been designed to carry out load/discharge testing. This allows the user to determine the battery systems actual capacity. When coupled with the cell voltage logger, BVM, it becomes a comprehensive, stand-alone, discharge test system.
The TORKEL 930 can be used for battery systems ranging from 12 to 300 V, frequently encountered in switchgear or similar equipment. TORKELs high discharge capacity provides the opportunity to reduce testing time.
Discharging can occur at up to 220 A. If higher current is required, it is possible for two or more TORKEL units or extra load units, to be linked together. Tests can be conducted at constant power, constant current, constant resistance or in accordance with a pre-selected load profile.
Testing can also be completed without having to disconnect the battery from the equipment it serves. TORKEL measures the total battery current, via a DC clamp-on probe, while regulating it at a continuous level. Battery systems can be plus grounded, minus grounded or free floating.
