The Megger FREJA 300 relay test system (formerly Programma FREJA 300) is a computer-aided relay testing and simulation system for secondary testing of protective relay equipment in substations and industrial power installations. Portable at just 15 kg, the FREJA 300 is intended primarily for secondary injection testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protection schemes. The rugged hardware is built for field use over a wide temperature range, and the unit generates 4 x 150 V (82 VA) and 3 x 15 A (87 VA), or 1 x 45 A (250 VA), with each output independently variable. Virtually all types of protection relays can be tested, from distance and differential through to overcurrent, frequency, and directional power types.

The system supports both static and dynamic modes, including prefault/fault sequencing, simultaneous ramping, and waveform editing. It operates standalone via the built-in display or under full PC control with FREJA Win software.

Standalone and PC-controlled operation
In Local mode, each key function appears on the display alongside settings and measured values, so no PC is required for manual operation. For automated sequences, FREJA Win PC software provides vector diagrams, sequenced setups, and reporting. The FREJA SIM Disturbance Simulator extends the platform further, allowing import and playback of COMTRADE disturbance recordings.
Portable, field-ready design
The weight of FREJA 300 is only 15 kg. Combined with a universal supply (100-240 V AC) and rugged construction, it travels well between sites. Hard transport case and soft case options are available.
User calibration with the FREJA 300 calibration box
The Programma FREJA 300 calibration box (part number CF-90100) lets you calibrate the unit yourself in the field. Only the FREJA 300 calibration box needs annual calibration, not the FREJA 300 unit itself. That keeps your test equipment in service rather than sitting on a shelf. We also offer INAB-accredited calibration from our laboratory in Portlaoise for customers who prefer third-party traceability.
What the FREJA 300 can test
The Megger FREJA 300 handles testing of protective relay equipment across a broad range: distance, overcurrent and ground fault types (including inverse time), differential protection, under/over-voltage, frequency, directional power and overcurrent, synchronism-check, automatic reclosing devices, and power factor relays. With the GPS200 MGTR accessory, multiple units can be synchronised for end-to-end testing. The unit also functions as a disturbance analyzer for recorded fault data playback.

The Megger SVERKER is a single-phase relay test set for simpler overcurrent and voltage work. The FREJA 300 is a full three-phase system with four voltage and three current outputs for complex schemes including distance and differential protection.
