Fluke 289 True RMS Industrial Logging Multimeter
The Fluke 289 is a True RMS industrial logging multimeter for the demanding work of modern electronics, automation, robotics and electro-mechanical systems. It pairs fast, precise measurement with serious data logging: record readings over time, then collect, retrieve and graph them on a large 50,000 count display, with TrendCapture and a 14x zoom that let you analyse the record without a PC. For intermittent faults that a single reading would never reveal, that logging capability is the whole point.
Supplied by Powerpoint Engineering as an authorised Fluke distributor, this listing is for the instrument without a calibration certificate, and excludes FlukeView Forms Basic and the IR USB cable. Our in-house laboratory can supply traceable calibration when you need it.
What the Fluke 289 measures
- True RMS AC and DC voltage from 50 mV to 1000 V, and current from 500 microamps to 10 A
- Low impedance (LoZ) voltage measurement to reject ghost voltages
- A 50 ohm range with 1 milliohm resolution, plus a selectable low-pass filter
- Temperature, resistance, continuity, capacitance and frequency, with on-board logging and TrendCapture
What sets the 289 apart
The 289 is the industrial sibling of the 287, and the extras are the reason to choose it. LoZ voltage measurement loads the circuit slightly to reject the ghost voltages that mislead a high-impedance meter. The low-pass filter cleans up readings on variable speed drives, and the 50 ohm range with milliohm resolution suits low-resistance checks such as bonding and connections. With Fluke Connect available via the optional ir3000 FC connector, readings can also be shared wirelessly to a smartphone.

Where the 289 fits in the range
Choose the 289 for industrial measurement that needs LoZ, the low-pass filter and the 50 ohm range. The Fluke 287 is the electronics-focused version with the same display and logging, but without those industrial extras.
Calibration and support
- Supplied and supported in Ireland by an authorised Fluke distributor
- This listing excludes FlukeView Forms Basic and the IR USB cable
- Calibrated and repaired in our own lab with traceable certificates
Because this listing ships without a certificate, the simplest route to compliance is to calibrate it through our calibration and repair laboratory. Full figures are on the official Fluke 289 datasheet and across the wider Fluke digital multimeter range.
FAQs
What does LoZ do on the Fluke 289?
Low impedance (LoZ) voltage measurement applies a small load to the circuit, which dissipates the ghost or stray voltages that can show up on a high-impedance meter. It gives you a true reading of whether a conductor is actually live.
What is excluded from this Fluke 289 listing?
This listing excludes FlukeView Forms Basic software and the IR USB cable, and is supplied without a calibration certificate. The meter itself is the full 289; the accessories and certificate can be added separately.
Should I choose the 287 or the 289?
Choose the 289 for industrial work needing LoZ, a low-pass filter and the 50 ohm range. The 287 suits electronics work and shares the same 50,000 count display and TrendCapture logging.
